Southpeak: Who we are

The Stirling Range Ridge Walk is one of the most exhilarating hikes in Australia. It’s raw, unforgiving, and absolutely spectacular. This is an experience that challenges you, humbles you, and leaves you transformed.

The Stirling Range Ridge Walk is one of my favourite hikes out there. There are so many things to see and experience on that Ridge Walk. I started when I was 12 years old and now I am 14. I love going out there and enjoying the different tracks and terrain I’ve never experienced before. I hike with my Dad and I love having his company there and the memories we make are unforgettable. I love accomplishing a hike with my dad and a smile on my face. Something I will never regret is starting to hike with South Peak Adventure. I will forever be thankful for my Dad and Tom for taking me out for my very first hike out at Dempster head and working my way up to the Stirling Range National Park.

This is definitely one for the bucket list. I was pushed outside of my comfort zone: challenged both physically and mentally in an incredible setting, whilst being very well supported by the guides throughout the entire process. The experience has given me a real sense of achievement and a timely reminder when life gets tough that I can do hard things.

Crossing the Stirling Range Ridge with Southpeak was an unforgettable experience, made all the more meaningful by sharing it with my 13-year-old daughter. The challenging terrain brought moments of quiet strength, mutual encouragement, and a level of connection that very few other experiences could ever offer. Watching her rise to meet each summit with determination and grace was both humbling and inspiring. This was more than a hike for us, it was a powerful father-daughter journey that will remain etched in both our hearts. I’m forever grateful to Southpeak for creating an opportunity for that kind of meaningful experience to unfold.

I was completely astounded by the incredible scenery and panoramic views the ridge walk delivered -
it truly is world class. The physical challenge was tough and my mental fortitude was tested. My
number one tip for anyone wanting to complete the Stirling Range Ridge walk - do the work before
the walk! Go all in on the training program - a disciplined approach throughout your preparation will
put you in good stead to thrive on your first crossing!

Hello legends, hard to believe it was 3 months ago we were all getting ready to take on the Ridge Walk. Thought I would give an update on how I’ve gone since then and would love to hear what everyone else has been up to. My company has hit new best weeks every second week since opening 8 weeks ago. Some of the lessons of self-awareness and separating my emotion from the event ahead have helped greatly, plus remembering small steps makes anything big, look achievable.

SouthPeak…. Train hard, hike easy! Be prepared and sharpen your Uno skills. Pack weight and bring a mate. Laugh dig deep and build muscle. The best crew, inspiration, camaraderie, expertise, genuine kindness and a quietly relentless push to conquer the mind game and the best version of yourself.

Every wilderness hike is different and has its own set of challenges. Gear, topography and weather for example, but when you are travelling with South Peak you can count on being guided by safe and experienced hands.

I cannot recommend South Peak Adventure and the Stirling Ridge Walk highly enough. Tom is a great expedition leader who inspires you to achieve your potential. He runs a very professional operation. The food from famous Esperance Bakery "Bread Local" is a highlight that will fuel your success. The accommodation at Yardup Shearer's Quarters is a charming farm-stay with great views of the Stirling’s. The Stirling Ridge Walk is demanding and technical, with breath taking scenery, flora, & fauna. It will leave you with a great sense of achievement once completed. Go for it!

If you want to get value for money and see what the South-West has to offer in hiking, then I would highly recommend South Peak. Tom, who runs the program, knows the Stirling’s inside and out and means you will have absolutely zero stress about navigation on the hike, which would usually be the hardest thing to do when you're trekking up a mountain. P.S. the catering is some of the best food you'll ever have, coming from experience of wolfing down about 4 people's worth of food before each hike because it was so good.

The Stirling Ridge Walk with South Peak was an unforgettable experience. Being pushed physically, out in nature, with an incredible group of people is both empowering and the perfect soul reset. Tom shares so much knowledge and experience that you feel safe climbing terrain that you could easily get lost in by yourself. 12/10 recommend immersing yourself in nature with your phone on airplane mode alongside the South Peak crew.

This was Epic! From the early email correspondence, to the training plans, Tom left no stone unturned. Our Stirling’s trip had the perfect mix of guided experience and figure it out yourself, with Tom definitely adjusting to the tone of our group. Highly recommend Southpeak and hope to do another trip with them in the future.
